If you could create music with another musician (local, famous, dead/alive), who would it be and why?  I would want to create music with Duke Ellington, because I want to know what his creative process was while writing his music, as well as it would be a good learning experience for me to learn how to write jazz music
What is the one thing that instantly makes your day better?
When I remember the weekend is almost here
What is your favorite random fact (NOT something about you)?
The Sun and Earth are so far away from each other that it takes 8 minutes for sunlight to travel to the Earth. This means that if the Sun disappeared, we wouldn’t know for 8 minutes
Why do you think it's important to teach the younger generation music?
I want the younger generation to understand music for the writing processes and scientific relationships it has so that they can better appreciate the works of musicians over time. Whether they go into music or not, they will have a new appreciation for music rather than something that they listen to and enjoy for themselves
What is the most unexpected thing you have learned while studying music?
I’ve learned that music is a deeply connected subject. Everything ties to everything, and as you learn more about it, the more satisfying it becomes as things start to make sense. I knew it would be a challenge to be a music major, but I’ve enjoyed the experiences and everything I’ve learned so far
